The Bunker isn’t a game to rush through but rather savour every moment spent in its incredibly well-crafted setting. The bunker itself is extremely convincing; the 1980’s paraphernalia that litters each room – from Commodore computers with their console-like screens to big box-like cassette recorders – is a true trip down memory lane, but one that is tainted with an unsettling, eerie feel.

Although I hate to be so vague about The Bunker, giving away too much would be doing a great disservice to anyone reading this review. Instead, I’ll simply say that it’s one of the most enjoyable FMV games I’ve ever played, and that I’d recommend prospective players block out two hours and go through it all in a single sitting. My compliments to Splendy Games, and I’m now officially on record as being quite prepared to drop a few dollars on whatever they turn out next. *Twitter informs me that Her Story and Gabriel Knight 2 are also worth a look. Disclosures: This game is developed by Splendy Games and published by Wales Interactive.

Overall though, The Bunker is an excellent game, and one that I'd glad to have played. The cast performances are terrific, the writing is sharp, and the mechanics are sufficient for the story it sets out to tell. It is a great example that FMV games don't have to be over the top and campy (as fun as that can be) to be compelling, and is a great example of this style of game.
