You need to see it in motion to truly appreciate it. Both graphically and setup-wise I’m not sure I’ve played something like it before on an Xbox system. It is definitely aimed at kids, but even as a grumpy old man who is turning 40 this year I loved my time playing through the campaign.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright is a game with the kind of visual presentation that must be revered and venerated by all, despite some weird fundamental gaps in its user-friendliness. Whilst there are absolutely some opportunities for additional polish, it’s ultimately a minor ding in what is otherwise an insanely impressive game. This is an example of the best of what indie games can bring to the table. It is beautiful, it is dumb, it is dorky, and it is constantly tripping over itself to show you its new cool ideas. The Legend of Wright deserves recognition and love for all the amazing stuff it’s bringing to the tabletop.

Super-creative and lovingly animated with hand-drawn and crafted elements, this RPG has a simple charm that works If there’s one thing I tend to respect most in indie titles that are the passion projects of either a lone developer or a very small group is ambition, and a willingness to put it all creatively on the line.

If you enjoy unique adventure games and charming stories, RPG Time: The Legend of Wright is an easy recommendation on Switch. It feels great to play in handheld mode, and I can’t get over how good the animation work and aesthetic is throughout the adventure. It initially might seem confusing in the screenshots, but this is the real deal. The only downside for some will be the game length at under 10 hours long. -Mikhail Madnani SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 New Releases Kirby’s Dream Buffet ($14.99) SwitchArcade Highlight! Poyo! Here’s another fun Kirby spin-off that can be enjoyed alone or with other players in almost any configuration.
