I think my love for Potion Permit comes down to the stunning world design, weird villagers and homely, whimsical charm. That and I’m not immune to being a witch doctor. Echoing what I said at the start of this review, you need to try this game! Potion Permit is stacked with a great storyline, freedom of choice but a linear progression, lovely visuals and a huge sense of accomplishment as you build relations between the characters. Potion Permit is absolutely outstanding and instantly consumed me with its excellent storyline and character-building elements. It’s a game that isn’t overly complicated and had perfect pacing to suit casual and hardcore RPG fans alike. It never becomes overly confusing and keeps inventory management simplistic. You get a real feel for the atmosphere during this game, and you can genuinely feel the shift of mood throughout Moonbury as you progress. The art style definitely helps Potion Permit to nestle amongst the indie masterpieces of 2022 with games such as Tunic and Cult Of The Lamb.

Potion Permit has grown a lot since LadiesGamers previewed it nearly two years ago! While the final game sometimes lacks depth in its numerous systems, it compensates with breadth and charm. It manages to be meditative without feeling melancholic. The days flutter away, but there are no seasonal changes. Suspicious townsfolk will gradually warm to your presence as you repair your clinic and heal various ailments. It’s more a game about revitalization than it is about the passage of time, yet I could spend many more hours in Moonbury completing quests and concocting potions.
