The Overpowered Noobs

As an original 80s gamer, Rad Rodgers hits all the happy places. It has elements of the perfect classic platformer, sidelong references to my favorite old games, but still has the advantages of a modern, original game. Rad Rodgers is fantastically fun, and I’m looking forward to adding the next episode to my collection.

New mechanics, some tweaks to the level design, and more unique enemy AI would go a long way to making this one of those games you absolutely need to check out. As it stands, I would mostly recommend that you buy it if you’re a huge fan of 90s platformers or 2D shooters.

Rad Rodgers is a tautly constructed, well-paced game that doesn't outstay its welcome. Although I grew tired of the Pixelverse gimmick and wasn't always on board with the game's humor, I enjoyed its vibrant art, action and level design. Whether you're a platforming wizard or just a casual fan on the genre, Rad Rodgers will keep you entertained.

There's a lot to like about Rad Rodgers as it's a well-made platforming shooter fueled by '90s nostalgia. It's a bit on the short side and the visuals were too distracting for me but I'd still recommend retro gaming fans to give it a shot.

Rad Rodgers is a good looking, fun, and comical adventure that will please just about anyone that gamed in the 90s. It’s short and suffers from some screen tearing issues, but for the most part, it holds its own ground well. This is one foul mouthed, entertaining, and well rounded nostalgic trip that you don’t want to miss out on. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.
