FoxyLand is a must play for casual and more experienced platformer fans, with levels mostly being fairly easy to traverse, with fun puzzles to figure out involving switches and hidden items. High replayability comes from both individual competitiveness in completing a level without dying, and collecting coins to buy accessories, such as a hat or scarf to put on the fox.

Some levels are substantially more challenging than others, but the game always gives you the tools you need to succeed. Foxyland looks fine in a retro-y sort of way, and it sounds fine (in an even more retro-y sort of way), and it basically does everything you’d hope to get out of a Ratalaika platformer. It’s not going to wow you, but if you want to spend a few dollars and a few minutes on a game that’s not too bad, Foxyland is completely tolerable.

So, what does the fox say? This fox says that FoxyLand on Xbox One is an enjoyable enough little adventure with enough platforming goodness to see you to the end, but lacks any sort of imagination to truly distinguish itself from a rapid growing market of retro platformers.

FoxyLand is a by-the-numbers platformer which won’t come close to setting the world alight. It’s alright for what it is, with its thirty-six levels lasting a few hours, but you won’t remember much of it in a month’s time.

In conclusion, Foxyland was a very mediocre platformer, with only a good art style to note as any positive. The gameplay is boring, the gem requirement is stupid, and the levels aren’t that fun to play. Oddly enough, the halloween levels were more engaging than the main game, but the fact they don’t even record the stars you get and seemingly don’t save your progress for completing them makes that level pack feel utterly pointless. This is a done to death, mobile quality experience that if you’re familiar with, you probably don’t even need to give this a glance. It’s basic platforming bogged down by frustrating mechanics.

Even though it’s markedly short, FoxyLand quickly grows repetitive. Basic equals dull in this case. Even at $3.99 (on sale) it feels overpriced compared to comparable experiences on the Nintendo Switch. With nothing to make it stand out from other budget platformers, you can pass on this below-average game without much worry. Hopefully, the next BUG-Studio title that Ratalaika Games publishes will be better. Review: FoxyLand (Nintendo Switch) Poor Even though it’s markedly short, FoxyLand quickly grows repetitive.

Foxyland is a game about a fox collecting gems in the woods. It is very easy to play, takes about an hour to complete and doesn’t require any previous knowledge or experience in gaming. For those who give a fox about achievements, then this game could only have been made for you. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.
