Ready or Not
Ready or Not is a tactical first person shooter which places you in the boots of an elite SWAT team, tasked with diffusing hostile situations in intense, claustrophobic environments. It's set in a nondescript modern America, where an income disparity between the classes have become unsustainable and the country has been plunged into havoc. Bring order to chaos with up to 8 players in cooperative play, battle enemy squads in a close player-vs-player environment, or command AI in a striking single-player mode.

Like SWAT 4 got jacked on protein powder and PTSD, Ready or Not is absolutely essential for tactical shooter fans. This game was reviewed using a download code provided by 505 Games.

Ready or Not’s intense, grounded scenarios and razor-sharp focus on tactical decision-making created a level of immersion I’ve rarely felt in games – especially for someone who’s never touched this genre before. Playing solo is gripping, but diving into co-op with friends takes it to a whole new level, delivering moments of tension, chaos, and genuine teamwork that feel straight out of a crime thriller. It has some small imperfections, sure, but the highs far outweigh the lows and make for a tactical-shooting experience that I absolutely loved.

The Ready or Not PS5 port is excellent. The measured, tactical gameplay features action-packed moments and some of the most memorable co-op gameplay you can have. Unafraid to deal with content that most other shooters would shy away from, this is a brave shooter that is as interesting as it is to play. Anyone looking for something different from standard FPS games should give it a shot with friends. Disclosure: The publisher provided a digital copy for our Ready or Not PS5 review.
