MONSTER
Post Trauma is a game that takes inspiration from classic horror games. Play as Roman, a 57 year old man who has awakened in a strange and hostile place and find a way back home with his family. Get inside this world through fixed camera angles, alternating the gameplay with some sections in first person view. Solve puzzles and riddles with the information you will gather exploring your surroundings. Avoid (or kill) the creatures that you will find along the way, but be careful because some of them might not be hostile.

Post Trauma is a great, enjoyable, albeit short survival horror game. The environments, settings and characters all do their part to offer an unnerving experience. The fixed camera is a welcome addition and throwback to classic gaming. Despite its flaws; lack of map, backtracking, questionable voiceover and sometimes clunky movement, Post Trauma is a fun and creepy experience. I strongly recommend playing this little gem, whether you’re a long time fan of the genre or looking to dip your toes.

Post Trauma may stumble when it comes to storytelling and combat, but its eerie atmosphere, enjoyable puzzling, and old-school charm keep it compelling. For fans of classic survival horror, it’s a flawed but fascinating throwback that knows exactly what it wants to be, with its clever puzzles, unsettling world, and traditional fixed-camera presentation certainly evoking memories of some of my favourite survival horror experiences from my younger years. Add to that the low price-point and it’s definitely worth taking a look at if you’re eager for that classic survival horror buzz.
