Into the Dead 2 on the Nintendo Switch is just as addictive as the Mobile version, only with no sign of energy or in-App purchases! Despite the very simplistic controls and grindy purchase and upgrade mechanics, I found it incredibly hard to stop playing this game due to the constant progression and multitude of missions to complete. 60 levels of zombie slaughter, 300 missions to complete, 36 additional missions via three Side Stories (60 with the DLC/physical edition), and a whole host of companions, weapons, boosts, and Arcade events – this is simply the definitive edition of the game without any doubt. If you, like me, find yourself easily addicted to simple mobile games, this game will hook you and keep you playing for hours upon hours. Personally, I’d recommend picking up the physical edition of the game, as it contains both the Night of the Living Dead and Ghostbuster DLC packs for free, but even without those, Into the Dead 2 is by far one of the better Microtransaction-ran mobile ports which have removed all premium currencies from the game.

With a unique control scheme, Into the Dead 2‘s combat is simple yet compelling. You’ll encounter different zombie types, dodging attacks, and avoiding pockets of zombies as you run from one area to the next that’s always exhilarating. There’s so many levels to play, and ways to experience the game that it begs for “one more run”. Into the Dead 2 is a shining example of a mobile to console game done right.

The only complaint I actually have is that progression is locked behind challenges. I’d love to have seen a level up system in place that allowed you to get items that would help with your progression.

Though it’s simple on the surface, it’s altogether plain old fun! ____________________________________________________________ Brandon J.

Like a zombie, Into the Dead 2 is simple. Made for mobile, Into the Dead 2 is a game in which all you’ve really got to worry about is moving left and right and firing your gun.

Into the Dead 2's transition from a heavily microtransactioned mobile game to the Nintendo Switch is not without issues. First and foremost, the game's price tag may be a bit hard to swallow for what was a free-to-play mobile game.

Into the Dead 2 is astoundingly expense for an auto-run game. There are two DLC packs, Ghostbusters and Night of the Living Dead, which look better than the base game however, these are available for an additional £4.49 each! The game’s core mechanic will most likely bore most people. It may appeal to the casual gamer and if you’re interested in the title then download the free to play mobile version as the Switch version is definitely not worth your time or money. This game needed to stay dead. I award the game a Thumb Culture Bronze Award.
