It’s by no means a classic, but it’s a decent foundation for what could be a compelling sci-fi tale.

Fans of the genre and science fiction in general should check out Elea. After all, there are never too many mind-tickling sci-fi games out there.

Elea’s opening episode serves as an interactive trip into a fractured, nonsensical story, in which consistency seems to be almost completely absent. While this alone wouldn’t be a bad thing if the storytelling was better produced, the main drawback is that barely any of the game’s aspects come together well at all. Despite its impressive visuals, the end result makes for a very awkward and bland experience. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.

From an underdeveloped narrative to technical issues and questionable design decisions, ELEA: Paradigm Shift will leave you wanting more. The best thing about the game is its experimental visuals, but this isn’t enough to make the experience worthwhile.

In the end, ELEA: Paradigm Shift looks and feels like a beta release. It has a very unfinished feel with all its problems. It wouldn’t even make a good hardware demo for the Switch because of glitches. Sadly, I feel this title was rushed, and if it had more depth and development I think it could have been an amazing game.

I expected ELEA: Paradigm Shift to at least be an interesting and artistic game for the Nintendo Switch. As it turns out, it’s no way near that level. Not only that, but it’s plagued with problems in its controls, its visuals, and its gameplay. Though the beginning of the game showed promise, I was left with a resounding feeling of disappointment.
