Castle of Heart is a fun platformer with an interestingly challenging twist. The levels are well designed, but depending on skill, they may not take too long. The story is your run of the mill " slay the bad guy and save the girl" plot, but that meshes perfectly with a world of knights and monsters.

Castle of heart is an action game with some interesting features like a knight who will crumble if not kept fed by life giving red orbs, a good assortment of weapons including crossbows, and an arm that will fall off shortly before you crumble to a pile of lifeless rubble. The graphics are superb and the heavy feeling of a solid stone knight was a nice touch. It’s definitely worth your time if you enjoy this type of game and it should provide you many hours of enjoyment and self-imposed frustration. Castle of Heart was reviewed using a final retail Nintendo Switch download code provided by the publisher. Jay has been an avid gamer since the Intellivision days.

It’s an ambitious title that hits a lot of the right notes, and 7Levels should be very pleased with what they ended up producing with this title. It’s an enjoyable side-scroller with very enjoyable combat, and there isn’t quite a title like it in the shop. For those aiming for their next difficult game fix, Castle of Heart can definitely scratch that itch.

certainly a game that can promise a slightly different experience to anything else on Switch can offer.

There are loads of weapons to pick up and use – from the long-ranged spear to the crossbow, and several shorter-ranged melee options as well, and the Knight will always have his trusty sword too. By the end of Castle of Heart, you’ll feel satisfied that you undertook the journey, and while there’s no real reason to replay the adventure, you’ll still be glad you saw it through to the end. I was.

Castle of Heart is a linear but good looking and fun 2.5D action platformer on Nintendo Switch that is worth a try. The game has been improved considerably from the version that was originally released by 7Levels on Nintendo Switch, and while you can certainly feel the Castlevania influence, the game has more to do with Super Castlevania IV than with Symphoni of the Night, so be ready!
