7 Days to Die is a lo-fi, budget survival-horror sandbox that surprisingly breathes some new life into the tired zombie template. It’s a powerful example of how a game, even when executed without the technical wizardry of big AAA publishers, can become a canvas for your own personal stories. It’s arrestingly compelling and, in the right hands, infinitely replayable. It’s a diamond in the zombie-infested rough. REVIEW CODE: A complimentary Sony Playstation 4 code was provided to Brash Games for this review.

7 Days to Die is an incredibly unique title with a core gameplay loop that is unbelievably addicting. While there are certainly dated aspects of the game, 7 Days to Die is fun and worth giving a try, and should surely inspire a genre of its own.

I simply cannot fully recommend the game in its current state. This 7 Days to Die review has shown you that The Fun Pimps has a great title that will sell great on consoles once it is in a proper finished state. If you are comfortable with buying an unfinished title that lacks the polish you’d expect from a final release, then by all means buy it.

Stiff and smooth animations just make it comical at times. A moment of screen stutter also occurs when the game auto-saves at times, highly annoying but I was able to largely get used to it. All these issues aside, I was still having a blast playing this, and I can see myself stepping into the world of 7 Days to Die on and off at times. It’s not a game that takes commitment, yet people can also spend a lot of time in the world surviving, building, and just having some co-op fun.
