Odium is one hell of a challenging side-scroller, so much so that it walks a very fine line between being fun and being irritating. That said, Odium does a wonderful job at keeping its gameplay fresh through the steady flow of new, tricky additions. Furthermore, the game offers quite a decent chunk of replay value, and, thanks to its gorgeous monochromatic art style, together with its epic techno music, it rarely grows tiresome. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.

Odium to the Core is certainly tough, but in a good way. The game never feels unfair and each death feels deserved. The game's presentation adds to the fun, with graphic novel style cel-shading using colors that really pop combined with an original D&B soundtrack with tracks crafted to fit each level. If you're easily frustrated, then you should avoid this game completely - I unlocked the achievement for 100 deaths faster than I'd care to admit. If you enjoy putting your skills to the test in simple but challenging arcade games, then you're going to love Odium to the Core.

As I reflect on all the time I spent playing this game for this review, I can't say I didn’t enjoy my curse-filled time with Odium, on the contrary, its addictive feel roped me in, but those that get frustrated easily will want to look elsewhere. If there was a mode that offered more checkpoints I would have gladly stuck with it longer and possibly beaten all it, but as it stands, this was a little too Odium to the HARDcore for me.

Overall, Odium to the Core feels like a tried and true single-button game. It doesn't offer anything particularly new or exciting but it's still a solid entry in the genre that'll keep you playing until you inevitably grow tired of its simplicity.Odium to the Core gameplay video → Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! Review PlayStation 4 ★★★★☆ There are a growing number of co-op cooking games and Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is definitely one that stands out from the crowd. Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! has you basically navigate through menus via holding down shoulder buttons and tapping face buttons in order to prepare meals for your restaurant's patrons.

The developers will likely not appreciate the comparison, but this is like a stylish drum and bass-centric Flappy Bird. That alone should establish just who the audience is. It's a frustrating, maddening experience that will find a niche audience that just loves punishment, but is certainly not for everyone - or even for many.

The gameplay may be responsive but it is extremely irritating in an attempt to lure you through that ‘one-more-time’ mentality, except most of the time when you die it feels unfair and unjustified. The rhythm-based aspect funks things up, but as for the game as a whole, there isn’t much to be found here except a 2D side-scroller with no story, unfair gameplay challenges, and a repetitive drum and bass soundtrack which doesn’t stand out in the slightest.
