Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is Kiki’s Delivery Service as a video game. You get to deliver packages and fly around. It is fun but can be frustrating.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain really does do a good job of giving us a Kiki’s Delivery Service sort of game, and it’s often quite relaxing too! Mika’s a fun protagonist, and the island is this vibrant setting filled with big personalities and life. Sometimes the broomstick-riding can feel a bit fiddly, but it’s genuinely a delightful simulation about being a courier witch. Mika and the Witch’s Mountain will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC on August 21, 2024. Take to the skies on your magic broom and explore every nook and cranny as you deliver packages to the townspeople in Mika and the Witch’s Mountain! This coming-of-age tale follows aspiring witch, Mika, and her journey to the top of the mountain through a story of effort, friendship, and community.

Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is undeniably a love letter to the past, much like A Hat in Time was just a few years ago. Both games masterfully capture the essence of old-school platformers, blending that nostalgic charm with modern touches that elevate the experience for today’s players. Whether you view it as an homage or a close relative to A Hat in Time, the game’s undeniable charm, from its whimsical characters to its enchanting world, creates a cozy, feel-good adventure that’s hard to resist. Despite its clear similarities, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain carves out enough originality to stand on its own and is undoubtedly a must-play for fans of magical tales and nostalgic platformers. Developer – Chibig, Nukefist Publisher – Chibig Platforms – Nintendo Switch , PS4/5 , Xbox One , Xbox Series S|X, PC (Reviewed) Review copy given by Publisher No matter how many times I tried to tell myself I wasn’t playing a DLC for the game A Hat In Time, that’s all I could think about while playing this next game I’m about to review, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain. Mika and the Witch’s Mountain transports players into a charming and magical world, where they follow the story of Mika, a young witch-in-training, eager to prove her worth to the witching community.
