Paleo Pines is an addictive unique farming life sim that brings dinosaurs back to life in a cutesy manner. You'll befriend a variety of dinosaurs, who have different kinds of skills that help you around your ranch. Along with befriending these dinosaurs, exploring the world that is Paleo Pines is incredibly captivating. With its vibrancy, quirky villagers, quests, and collections of artifacts, you'll constantly have a task to complete. This is definitely a game for people who want another life sim in their collection or for dinosaur lovers.

The gameplay can get a little repetitive, but overall, the core experience of finding and befriending dinosaurs is well worth your time. There could certainly be some improvements, such as the ability to fast-travel back home or between biomes, and a limited supply of quests is disappointing. Pros - + Creative dinosaur design - + Wholesome, heartwarming story - + Plenty to explore Cons - - Repetitive side quests - - No fast travel Why you can trust Windows Central Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you.

Paleo Pines is a game for all ages, from both young children to nostalgic adults who want to go back to simpler times. The game fulfills a childhood fantasy many of us had while growing up and combines it with a fun farming sim that is both simple and easy to learn as it is rewarding to do. The game does take some time to pick itself up, and you might find yourself doing the same old thing day in and day out, but the game still rewards you for sticking with it and incentivizes you to stick with it until the end.

Ultimately, I’d say Paleo Pines is a well-made game, worthwhile if you don’t mind spending a good chunk of your time repeating routines. Many hours in, riding dinosaurs and befriending them still feels novel! Taking a trip into town to see how I could help the neighbours felt like almost all of the purpose I needed. The negatives I saw are things that maybe could be ameliorated with updates, and it seems like a good fit for future content add-ons. Once you adjust to your life in Paleo Pines, you can spend many hours making that life your own.

Ultimately how you feel about the Paleo Pines comes from what you want to get from it. If you are expecting something like Jurassic Park, it’s not going to satisfy you. If you’re looking for an advanced story, it’s not here either. It’s a perfect game for those who want a cozy farming-style sim with cute dinosaurs. However, it’s more of a farming-sim lite than most farming sims I’ve played. Paleo Pines is more about exploration and collecting than farming. I think it has a broad range of appeal for a lot of gamers, and it gave me exactly what I wanted from it. While there wasn’t a lot of variety of missions and could become repetitive at times, it’s the perfect game to just pick up for an hour or two if you want to decompress. It’s also only under $30 USD so it won’t break the bank either.

While it’s got a set of flaws, Paleo Pines offers a charming and immersive farming sim experience. Its focus on dinosaurs adds a unique twist to the genre and instantly makes it stand out. Even if you’re not particularly into dinosaurs, the endearing design of these companions is sure to win you over. The heartwarming narrative, vibrant setting, and lovable characters create an enjoyable gaming journey. With its captivating gameplay and adorable dinosaurs, Paleo Pines is a solid choice for farming sims and cozy game enthusiasts.
