In the end Gigantosaurus Dino Kart ticks all the right boxes for a game aimed at younger players. Not only is it well presented but it plays quite well on the Xbox Series X and more importantly is a great local multiplayer experience.

Keeping in mind that this is a Kart Racer aimed at young children, I think it does what it sets out to do very well. Thanks to the generous difficulty settings and the built-in steering aid, even the littlest gamers can have a great time.

Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart should provide a fun time for the younger players in your family but older players likely won’t enjoy it as much. The visuals and audio capture the show nicely and there is a decent amount of characters and tracks to play with.

If you don’t have many other kart games on the Xbox, and your kids love the charms of Gigantosaurus, then don’t hesitate: this is a no-brainer. If that doesn’t describe you, however, then you might want to be more wary. Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart is a fine racer, but not a great one.

I know I am not the intended audience, however, I did have fun with this kart racer. Controls are simple with the added feature of auto acceleration for the younger players (or the lazy ones like me), while the graphics look good and are on point for the Gigantosaurus world. It won’t challenging the karting kings out there, but for a short and sweet title to play with the little ones this’ll do just nicely. This game was reviewed based on Xbox S|X review code, using an Xbox S|X console.

So this basically ends up being the typical licensed game that feels like a godsend to fans of the franchise in question, but is a cautionary purchase for everyone else. Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart is easily 3DClouds’ best attempt at a kid-friendly racing game, and it has enough mechanics to make it feel like the perfect introductory racing title for your kids before you teach them about the horrific tale of the Blue Shell, but it’s a bit too brief in terms of content.
