Ghost Sweeper is a cute little title from 7 Raven Studios packed with a variety of puzzle-style levels to challenge both your quick-thinking and strategy planning skills. I’m a fan of games with any kind of puzzle element but I hesitated before deciding to give Ghost Sweeper a go because I thought it might get a bit repetitive, how wrong I was! The Basics Each level is made up of a combination of static, moving, and fire-breathing enemies, ice blocks, permanent blocks, and collectible items.

It’s hard for me to be too hard on Ghost Sweeper given that it’s priced at just $5 but you can also probably find a better use for that money. It very much reminded me of Solomon’s Key but it just felt a tad too clunky to play to be very enjoyable. It has some charm to it but just be prepared for some unresponsive controls if you do decide to become a Ghost Sweeper. *Ghost Sweeper is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

While not quite as good as the Taito’s recently released Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, Ghost Sweeper is a fun little puzzle-platformer that’s well worth the modest $5 asking price. If you’re a fan of Solomon’s Key or merely looking for a fresh dose of arcade-inspired action, you can’t go wrong adding this game to your collection.

If you’re a veteran of Solomon’s Key and are desperate for more, Ghost Sweeper will provide you with what feels like the levels from the 1980’s classic that didn’t make the cut. The mechanics and enemy types have been recreated with a spit shine for modern TV’s and having a second playable character is a nice touch. Compared to modern day puzzle platformers though, Ghost Sweeper feels like a relic from the past that needed more of a refresh that simply updated visuals. 4/10 Ghost Sweeper is available now on Nintendo Switch (review version), Xbox One, PC and mobile devices.
