MONSTER
Gear Gauntlet is a fun but rage inducing 2D action arcade game from Drop Dead Interactive. Test your patience through ever more punishing gauntlets while boosting, teleporting, reversing and rotating to survive. Use your reflexes to break through coloured barriers and earn your place on the leaderboard. Beautiful hand drawn art and a wonderful soundtrack accompany your descent into fury, but do try to remain calm! Can you survive the Gear Gauntlet?

Gear Gauntlet is the perfect game to pick up and play in small intervals. I found myself getting very frustrated at times when I had spent a long period of time playing because the more frustrated I got the harder it became to beat the level.

Gear Gauntlet reminds me of a mixture between Super Meat Boy, Marble Madness and Tetris. The developers knew exactly what kind of game they wanted to deliver and knocked it out of the park. The hardcore completionists will enjoy their broken controllers as they dodge and weave their way through the gorgeously imagined levels.

Gear Gauntlet is based on a very simple premise, and the content that is there is captivating enough to justify playing each level multiple times over. The fast-paced nature of the title and rapid decision making that comes with each movement or action is satisfying when you finally nail a run, though it's certainly challenging. If you enjoy fun but punishing games that can be enjoyed in short bursts, this may be one to take a look at.

I would only recommend Gear Gauntlet to those hardcore gamers that love to be constantly challenged, and who are always looking to shave that extra tenth of a second of their best time. Score: Limited Appeal [EDITORS NOTE: At this time, there are no colorblind options in Gear Gauntlet, but the developer has assured us this will be fixed in the near future.
