Faraday Protocol is definitely in a league of its own. I love me a good puzzle game, but when Faraday Protocol came across my inbox, I knew just who to call.

All in all, I really enjoyed Faraday Protocol. The puzzles are paced really well, introducing new approaches and ways of thinking constantly, and the later added twists are a welcome change at the right moment. The visual aesthetic can get a little too repetitive – though it is technically very well done – but as something to play in short sittings over a few nights this is a great puzzle game.Become a Patron! Faraday Protocol does a couple of things well enough that it’s clearly not the worst game that has followed in Portal’s footsteps over the past decade-plus. But it also doesn’t do anything so well that you need to rush out and get it right now, so it’s really just for first-person puzzler fans only.

At its core, Faraday Protocol does what it needs to as a puzzler and has all the necessary elements to deliver a compelling experience, but it needs refinement in a few other aspects before it can really shine. I would’ve loved to see a more cohesive tutorial system for guidance, and maybe some more sprinkles of story stuff scattered around. As it stands, if you’ve got the time to sort out the hows and whys to the game’s many mechanics, I can’t think of any reason why you shouldn’t give Faraday Protocol a good old college try.
