Gameplay-wise, Bits & Bops might not be to everybody’s taste, but still, it’s a game well worth trying. In general, I don’t like failing a lot in games; I don’t find it particularly entertaining or relaxing to be stuck on a level, but Bits & Bops is charming and colorful enough to make me want to try again and again.

Bits & Bops is bite-sized, but encapsulates some of the best parts of the rhythm genre as a whole. Some of these songs will remain in your head ages after you uninstall, not merely from their tuneage, but the creative imagery that unfolded on the screen while you played. Even if you’re not going for an all-perfect run, this one’s a ton of fun, and is certainly worth deliberating over on a sale from its $19.99USD price tag. The crowning achievement! So, why should you play Bits & Bops? - Clever-as-can-be rhythms overlap absolute earworms. - Cute, vibrant sights accompany the fun. - Just the right amount of hit forgiveness to accompany modern monitors and their input latency. But why shouldn’t you play Bits & Bops? - Some cues tend to get masked by the wall of sound. - Difficulty spike in second half could put off casual players.
