Battlezone Gold Edition is not only the best PlayStation VR game that I've ever played; it's also one of the best roguelikes. Rebellion definitely knows what they're doing and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

From customizing your tank, to your campaign, to your multiplayer/single player experience, and so on, Battlezone offers you almost too many choices. However, that is the strength of the game and it works brilliantly. Battlezone is easily a must have purchase if you enjoy tank combat, arena combat, or are a fan of the classic Battlezone from 1980. While $34.99 is a steep price to pay for a remake of a 40-year-old game, Rebellion has made it worth every penny.

Nintendo Switch certainly doesn’t have an abundance of first person shooters, and so Battlezone Gold Edition fills a definite gap in the catalogue, and its super-fast pace and simple premise will appeal to those who like to jump on and kill ten minutes in handheld mode. 8/10 Horizon Chase Turbo Originally released on iOS, Android, PS4, and PC platforms before seeing a Switch and Xbox One release There are loads of new games that pay homage to older titles through references, borrowed mechanics, and the likes but few manage to capture what made the originals special.

Nintendo Life

It’s taken a good six months for Battlezone Gold Edition to make its way to Nintendo Switch, but those months have been well worth it. The result is a port that uses the console’s gyro controls to recreate the movement of a VR headset, and one that does so without making too many concessions in terms of overall performance. While it’s still frustrating Switch owners have to wait so long for ports such as this, Battlezone Gold Edition could be the precedent that proves VR-orientated titles could lead a happy second life in semi-handheld form.
