There is a lot of challenge that lies ahead in X-Morph: Defense. Levels range in difficulty from easy to downright frustrating. But making tweaks to your game plan and coming back with a stubborn attitude will most times leave you triumphant in your battle. If you love shmups and tower defense games and are looking for a game to keep returning to, there’s a globe filled with humans that needs conquering. Be ready, though — world domination won’t just be handed to you. A review code was provided by the publisher. A console gamer gone rogue.

X-morph Defense is the total package, one I had no clue I wanted but now wonder how I ever lived without. The combination of twin stick shooting with tower defense is a match made in heaven.

Overall there is plenty of content in X-Morph: Defense, as well as a fun gameplay foundation, that makes it an easy game to recommend. The graphics are great with a lot of attention to detail, with explosions that carry some weight and oomph. EXOR Studios have given us a very fun and action-packed release on PS4, and I look forward to seeing what the team does next.
