The achievement made by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is one by way of both hardware and design to capitalise upon this. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR’s level of immersion is simply fantastic, and while Bethesda Softworks could well have gone the route of DOOM VFR and created a shorter spin-off experience, developing a brand new The Elder Scrolls instalment specifically for VR would have taken many years and far too much in the way of resources for what is still a nascent audience. As it stands some may find the price point of the videogame a bitter pill to swallow, but for those who dreamed of a truly immersive role-playing experience, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is simply the best opportunity available today.

Overall this game is everything i wanted from my headset: magic, dragons and sword swinging fun. I am enjoying it so much that I am not noticing it’s minimal flaws. The idea of a 100 hour RPG in VR was slightly daunting but now it’s all i want to play. I think to be able to revamp an old, over played RPG in this way is a massive achievement and I think this will add a lot of value to my PSVR headset.

For a game that wasn’t originally designed for VR at all, Skyrim VR is nothing short of impressive. This really is the Skyrim that you know and love, but now you can enjoy it like never before with the immersive presence of a VR headset. With a large variety of control schemes to choose from and hundreds of hours of content, this is a game that all RPG fans and lovers of immersive fantasy worlds should play.

With great performance, unofficial mod support, all the DLC, and pretty good controls, The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim VR is a great buy for VR headset owners. Even if you’ve played hundreds of hours in the pancake version of the game, I think you’ll really enjoy being immersed in the world of Skyrim. It truly is a brand new experience and it along with Fallout 4 are now two of my favorite VR games to play. It wasn’t a long wait to get it on PC, but it was definitely worth it and Bethesda has done pretty well in making improvements post launch. I really loved playing Skyrim with my HTC Vive and even with the bugs that it has, the game's great fun.

Resident Evil 7 and Skyrim prove that PlayStation VR is a viable platform and that full-sized games belong on it. If you can look past the bugs (and let’s face it: if you’re a Skyrim fan, you can), then this feels like the definitive way to experience Skyrim.
