"The Crown of Wu" (or simply Crown of Wu) is a 3D third-person adventure-action, puzzles and platforms game. Get ready to explore a new world inspired by Journey to the West, a traditional Chinese tale about the Monkey King, Sun Wukong. You’ll explore the future-past fantasy world as Sun Wukong, fighting alone against enemies and overcoming complex obstacles to retrieve the great Crown stolen by the antagonist Zhu. With Zhu waiting to fight and kill you, will you be able to get back the Crown and save your world from destruction?

The Crown of Wu has a lot of problems and most of it is due to the complexity of the concept that a small team was unable to realize. Some aspects would have been more effective if they were simplified, like the combat and magic systems. The platforming is hopelessly underdeveloped and the character design needs a drastic overhaul to be more appealing. The Crown of Wu was reviewed on PlayStation 5 using a copy provided by Meridiem Games.
