Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is exactly what one wants from an arcade game. It's simultaneously pithy and filled with content, fun and challenging, and energetic and thoughtful. Like the little monkey you control, Banana Blitz HD has mastered the art of balance, and it shows.

It is great having Super Monkey Ball back on consoles, and like any good friendship you can jump straight back into it and feel like you’ve never been apart. When first announced, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD on the Xbox One may not have been everyone’s first choice, but the game feels better now than it did on the Wii with the awkward motion controls disappearing.

The levels themselves are really well designed, when you are going down a spiral hill at a ridiculous speed you need to take care that you don't go shooting off the side while collecting bananas as you go along. Its like most games, you pick up over a certain number of collectibles and you earn a life. When you start the game you just assume that the levels are quite easy and you'd be right at the start but then as you progress, not only does it test your skills, it also tests your patience. I actually found myself raging when I failed numerously, which I actually do very little of, not as much as the Modern Warfare 2 days anyway (stupid noobtubers everywhere) but I digress....
