Bake 'n Switch is a goofy arcade-style co-op game that features some fun mechanics yet its core gameplay remains rather flat.Bake 'n Switch gameplay video → Shing! Review PlayStation 4 ★★★☆☆ Few genres lend themselves to co-op gameplay as well as a good old beat 'em up so here's one where you hack and slash monsters. Shing! is yet another arcade-style game and this one allows up to 4 local players to play cooperatively.

Bake ‘n’ Switch is a fun game that is slightly flawed by its repetitiveness and online issues. As amusing as it is though, I fail to see why I would purchase this over the likes of Overcooked and Overcooked 2, which have cheaper price points.

Bake ‘n Switch makes for a fun experience overall but it’s hard to deny that certain elements feel bare. With a minimal PvP mode, no single-player option (at launch, anyway) and issues with online progression, it does feel rushed upon delivery but there’s still plenty of content to keep players busy. If you can assemble a team of friends, have a younger family to entertain or just want a new multiplayer experience, there’s enjoyment to be found here – but it’s a cautious recommendation.

Bake ‘n Switch is a multiplayer couch co-op which strangely works better as a solo journey. Adorable yet mighty, it can not be denied this game has a lot of content with 100 levels under its belt. However, this game comes with frustrating mechanics that let the party vibe elements feel lackluster. It does not hold up against the party favourites such as Overcooked or Jackbox. Bake ‘n Switch is available now on Nintendo Switch (review platform) and PC via Steam.
