While the venues are extremely limited, nothing compares to the multiplayer issues that remove the move clock without any option to include it. That effectively eliminates one entire mode completely, and since Chess is mostly a multiplayer game, that's a major drawback. You would think after all this time VooFoo would have addressed it and corrected the issue, but apparently didn't manage to since its initial release 4 years ago.

Pure Chess looks gorgeous, and offers an excellent single-player experience. But while playing the AI opponent is fun, the game's woefully underdeveloped online mode makes playing against humans decidedly not. I can't remember the last time I played a human at chess.

Nevertheless, if you haven’t played the PS3 or Vita versions, and you’re eager to enjoy some virtual chess, then this is the best option currently available, as it really looks sensational.
