Nano Assault NEO-X is an amazing looking game that doesn’t have a lot to offer besides its current-gen graphics. It takes only around an hour to beat the whole thing, and unless you really want to compete for a top score in the leaderboards, there isn’t much of a reason to go back and replay any of the levels. Its boss-battles are disappointing, and while its fast-paced, stick-shooter gameplay is fun, it gets old fairly quickly.

As a twin-stick shooter, this is a perfectly competent one – but where Super Stardust HD kept us occupied for an entire generation, Shin’en Multimedia’s overdue PS4 debut will be lucky to hold your attention for an hour or two.
