Some gamers have come to expect, with undue regularity, the world from a gaming experience. What about fun? Simple, intuitive escapism? Why must a title always be adorned – or beset, perhaps – with pseudo-sophisticated ornament? Some might find the frenetic gameplay off-putting (it is optional, anyway), but the fun factor prevails, and especially with good company, Marooners hits the mark.

With easy and fun gameplay, M2H brought us a party game suited for all ages. It offers local and online multiplayer and a good amount of content for the asking price. It has some small issues, but you will surely ignore them. The colorful island will suck you in and put your friendship at test with greedy and chaotic minigames. We would have loved to have more options so that we could select the mini-games that are more fun and focus on those. We also think that the game could definitely benefit from some DLC so that more mini-games are available and thrown into the mix. The Chaos game modifier was a great feature, and we always used it to have more fun with this release.

If you're looking for a simple and enjoyable party game that you can play both locally and online then you need to give Marooners a download. Its charming and frantic action makes for a party that you'd definitely be happy to attend.

Marooners does a number of things right yet still feels limited in content. You can play it for a long time finding it just a blast, yet you'll start to see a sense of repetition coming in.

Despite some flaws and a couple of dud games, Marooners is the type of island getaway where I enjoyed my stay and can see myself coming back.

If you’re after a casual experience that can be enjoyed either online with strangers or offline with family and friends, then this is a great little game for you to earn those bragging rights.
