KILL KNIGHT is an exciting bullet hell romp that challenges you to master its mechanics and descend through the circles of hell, prompting you with greater difficulties and higher scores to beat as you go.

KILL KNIGHT is an enjoyable and fast-paced action experience that avoids the attention struggles that I face in our digitally-dominated society. From the very beginning of the game, it had my full attention with gut-wrenching visuals in cutscenes and easy-to-learn but deep combat mechanics. The aesthetic appeal to retro arcades, tight arena designs, and the dynamic DOOM-like soundtrack churns nostalgia with freshness.

Kill Knight manages to mix hectic and ultra-responsive arcade gameplay with a fun layer of resource management and strategy to create a great challenge to bite into. The visuals are splendid, the enemies never stop coming, and the battle is glorious!

Kill Knight isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you’re up for a challenge, it’s an exhilarating experience that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Sure, it has its rough edges, and the repetition might wear on some players. But for those who crave intense, skill-based action with a gothic, retro flair, Kill Knight delivers in spades. It’s one of those games where, even after countless deaths, you’re always itching for just one more run. And when you finally conquer the abyss, the victory is all the sweeter for having fought tooth and nail to get there.

For those of us that love engaging with punishing mechanics and feeling a tangible sense of improvement with each failure, Kill Knight is simply excellent. It offers a constant barrage of split-second decisions for the player to make, greatly rewards both heat-of-the-moment reaction time and preparedness in remembering which enemies are coming up next, and wraps it all up in an atmospheric pixelated hellscape. The result is an addictive twin-stick shooter playing out at a breakneck pace, and one very much worth your time if you’re looking for something that will let you notice tangible improvement with every attempt to clear its difficult stages.
