Jumpgate's gameplay is what makes it a success - Wing Commander-style simplicity combined with some great in-game physics. George Lucas' beloved X-Wings have a lot to answer for - those gamers who have spurned space sims up to this point because of the 'arcade flying' feel prevalent in games such as Microsoft's flawed but addictive Star Lancer - prepare to return to the fold! Movement of ships in Jumpgate mirrors the way that Babylon 5's scout ships were the first proper TV/film sci-fi representation of what moving in three dimensions in space was really all about.
