The only issue I had with Gunborg was the games length, being able to be cleared in just over 2 hours; just when I felt like everything was coming together and all the systems clicked the game ended. On top of that there isn’t any real reason to replay it as players will see everything the game has to offer the first time through. There are 3 collectables hidden through each level but most can be picked up as you progress. Now I didn’t feel cheated or anything, I just would have loved to experience more. Which in this day and age can be accomplished with some dlc updates, but I don’t know if that’s in the cards for the developer. Also, I want to give him a special shout out again, Rickard Paulsson did an incredible job creating Gunborg. The slick neon futuristic 80’s vibe, the music, the pitch perfect controls… he really deserves all the success he gets from this game and I can’t wait to see his follow up titles.

Overall, if you are after a moody, vibrant, and focussed action platformer that can hold your attention throughout, then Gunborg: Dark Matters is definitely one you should be playing, be it in 2022 or beyond. It may be incredibly challenging, it may in essence be basic platforming, but it also brings together well-crafted mechanics, smooth controls, and some fantastic gameplay to create a memorable and enjoyable title well worth your time and money.Become a Patron! Gunborg: Dark Matters is a really good action platformer. It’s beautiful to look at, sounds amazing, and can be quite challenging on Hardcore difficulty. Yeah, I recommend giving this game a try. Thanks for reading. The game was reviewed on a PS5 using a promo code provided by the developer.

Gunborg: Dark Matter is a short and sweet action platformer that is sure to test you. The 80’s synthwave soundtrack mixed with the neon colors makes the presentation very attractive while the gameplay is super smooth and fun to control.
