This Season Update experiment makes you wonder why this hasn’t been the norm for football games for years. If this is the future of the genre, sign me up. EA should be looking over their shoulder. PES has retaken the crown. 9/10 eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is available now on Xbox One, PS4 (reviewed on PS4 Pro) and PC. If anything, eFootball PES 2021 Season Update is very upfront and very honest. It offers almost nothing new when compared to last year’s PES 2020, besides some very minute (but still welcome) gameplay tweaks and some roster updates. However, it does feature a much more honest price tag as a means to compensate for that. After playing a greedy dud like NBA 2K21, I’m glad to see a publisher out there being straightforward and pricing its sports title accordingly.

If PES 2021 were a $60 game I could not recommend it to people who weren’t already fans of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. However, it’s a $30 game, and if you’re looking for an affordable single-player soccer experience, PES 2021 could be the game you’re looking for.
