There’s not a moment of Daydreamer that I don’t vividly remember, and in breaking down what makes a game so completely, the developer has created a conversation in how games are constructed, and why they are in the way that they are. I’m not going to pretend that Daydreamer is a good game, because it isn’t.

Overall Daydreamer: Awakened Edition is a unique game with some awesome ideas and brilliant character design, as well as intriguing worlds to fight through. As you progress you pick up weapons to blast through a variety of hideous monstrosities and giant beasts.

It might not break any new ground, but those looking for an old school shooter should take a look at this title, which is well worth the asking price of ten bucks.

Daydreamer had the potential to be a sleeper hit in the Summer of lacking game releases, sadly it falls short on the most important of game fundamentals. I wanted to love this game a lot more than I do, but it just misses all the important notes in its execution.

As a gamer of over 30 years, I truly understand the impulse to bring back old-school mechanics and had they been executed well, Daydreamer: Awakened Edition would be an easy game to recommend. However, this isn’t the case and I find it to be one of the worst games I’ve played this year.
