Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is a game in the Corpse Party survival horror adventure game series. Players take control of a set of characters to explore the eerie hospital and escape from there. To do so, characters must interact with the environment to find clues and items needed to unlock the locked areas.

I have to admit the Corpse Party series is still managing to surpass my expectations, and while the first chapter doesn’t reveal too much about the story, I’m eager to have my questions answered. The gameplay is very similar to the previous Corpse Party games, but I found that Dead Patient made small improvements that made it a more enjoyable experience. An interesting aspect of the game is that it gives off an escape game vibe, and every action you make serves the purpose of surviving and escaping the horror.

Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient shows a lot of promise, and while I did really enjoy it, it only really took off towards the very end. Overall, Dead Patient is just too short with only one main chapter to really give it a true rating, although I found it quite enjoyable. While chapter 2 onward has been in development limbo for far too long, I would really like to see the continuation of this series. If you’re looking for something a little longer to tide you over after the last Corpse Party, unfortunately Dead Patient isn’t going to take long, as I clocked in at just barely over an hour and only missed a single collectible, but at least I had fun doing it, and hopefully you will too.

Whether or not you’ve partied with corpses before, Dead Patient gives you a good taste of what’s to come in this new entry of the Corpse Party overarching plot. Even as just a single episode, it’s quite good.

This is a fantastic beginning to the sequel that fans were waiting for. Corpse Party is so unique and intriguing that it's excellent to see the series is here for the foreseeable future. With the chapter that is available providing such a tight and fun experience, the stable experience of the game once you've surpassed the errors, and the promise of more to come, Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient is worth your attention. Just stay away if the tortuous atmosphere of the story sounds disturbing, as it's much darker than you might expect.
