MONSTER
Butcher is a fast-paced 2D shooter game and a blood-soaked love letter to the early 90s. As a cyborg programmed to eradicate the last remains of humanity, your sole purpose is to well... annihilate anything that moves. So grab your weapon of choice (from chainsaw, through shotgun, to grenade launcher) and kill your way through underground hideouts, post-apocalyptic cities, jungles and more. And if you're feeling creative, there are plenty other ways of ending your enemies' misery - hooks, lava pits, saws... no death will ever be the same.

Fast, furious and challenging. Also not very long in length, but the game play time may well be extended as you get yourself into the sideways scrolling demon's souls type punishment coming your way should you make a mistake! It's worth a go, and yes a Must Buy if this kind of game is too your taste.

Butcher is the type of game that really checks all the boxes for quality. The action is fast and fun, all to a heart pumping soundtrack and powerful sound effects. The controls are second nature and intuitive, with only a few important buttons to remember. It has its own distinct art style that I find uniquely beautiful. All this at a more-than-fair asking price of $9.99 (or region equivalent).

While DOOM was revolutionary for its hyper violence in the early 90’s, seeing violence and blood in almost any form of media these days is par the course. So while it doesn’t have that shock value that the legendary game BUTCHER is pulling its inspiration from, it nails the soul of the game perfectly, even with its completely different visual and gameplay style. BUTCHER doesn’t wear out its welcome with its perfect length and options for replayability with harder mode and collectibles.
