Despite the move to Switch, levels are still designed in a handheld console mentality, meaning you’ll be able to get through a level in a couple minutes flat; as such, BoxBoy remains perfectly suited for pick-up, put-down play. Priced at a low, low $15 AUD with bursting with puzzle-based fun, it’s hard to go wrong with BoxBoy and BoxGirl. BoxBoy and BoxGirl was reviewed using a promotional code on Switch, as provided by the publisher.

BoxBoy! + BoxGirl! is nearly everything I could have asked for when it comes to bringing the series to the Switch. A brand new co-op mode that fits the console perfectly, a campaign that lets you play as Qudy, the costumes are loads of fun, and above all,the puzzles are as challenging and as fun as ever.

Overall, Boxboy! + Boxgirl! does much more right than wrong. Outside of some ambiguity in how to perfectly solve a puzzle and a generally underwhelming visual style, Boxboy! + Boxgirl! is a daringly innovative puzzle-platformer. There’s so much to see, so much to do, and with another person in tow the whole adventure takes on a different dimension.
