You are the champion of Dawn, Aaru. Complete missions and explore the world of Lumenox using Aaru's highly mobile skills, teleportation and charging. The balance between Dawn, Day, Dusk and Night is being destroyed by Night. As a last hope Dawn sends out his champion, Aaru, to travel all the way to Night’s domain and restore balance. Can you save the world of Lumenox?

Aaru’s Awakening is a phenomenal piece of art, and a solidly built game to boot. With numerous levels across the domains of each entity, and fierce challenges standing between players and the goal.

As challenging and frustrating I found some of the stages in Aaru's Awakening, I felt a sense of accomplishment seeing my name listed on the top ten. Bosses slow down the relatively fast-paced stages, too slow for my likening, but still provide a unique take on platforming encounters.Note: Aaru's Awakening was reviewed on PC.

Aaru’s Awakening can be beaten in just a few sittings and the experience isn’t memorable or overall exciting. It is worth somewhat of a playthrough to look at the gorgeous environments and characters, provided they don’t kill you first. One of the last stages in the game is named “Hopeless”, which is how it feels sometimes when playing. A copy of this game was purchased for review purposes.
