A Pixel Story puts together a great, complete package that has a ton of ingenuity and fun to offer. From pits of lava and deadly spike traps to bright landscapes and colorful characters, the story unfolds in a great progression that adds more challenge and more reward the deeper that players explore into each of the substantially-sized generations.

A Pixel Story is a game that grows progressively harder as it teaches you to be faster, more accurate, and more accepting of the inevitable. It molds you into a perfect Chosen One.

A Pixel Story is well worth the purchase as the time and enjoyment is fairly high, and I truly adored my time with the unnamed Pong ball hero from start to finish. If you enjoy platforming games of any kind, A Pixel Story needs to be the next one you experience, even more so if you grew up in the 8 and 16-bit eras or appreciate those classic games.

Overall, I can easily recommend A Pixel Story. Although I was ultimately bested by the game’s brutal difficulty, I can still recognize the excellent design philosophy at work here. The clever writing, the carefully segmented aesthetic, the level design and even the challenge are well-crafted and precise.
