Even if you owned the 360 version, there is a nice visual overhaul and a handful of new exhibits and animals to utilize. The animals look amazing and the interactive moments can be pretty fun. The game features almost 200 different animals – so animal lovers will be in for a real treat! Gamers looking for a challenge have two modes to choose from (Scenario and Challenge) while gamers looking for a relaxed approach can enjoy the Freestyle mode.

Basically a ‘complete edition’ of the original release, Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection adds enough to keep both fans and newcomers happy, providing challenge for those who want it and a sandbox mode for those wanting a more laid back experience.

The music, whether you’re driving a buggy or walking around, is unobtrusive and doesn’t interfere with the background ambient sounds, which I like. I would say Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Edition warrants a 7.5 out of 10. This game was tested and reviewed on Xbox One.

Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection is definitely a better effort than the first release of the title at the start of the generation though still not entirely where it should be. The game is fine to play, a great title for all ages and offers a variety of modes.
