With its dodgy controls and dull combat, it is hard to recommend this game to anybody, even a real retro brawler fan. The game does have a nice look to it, but that doesn’t make up for the game’s glitches (several times I walked off the side of the screen, never to be seen again) and the poor way that the game’s text is presented.

The Asskickers is a fun throwback to older, more difficult beat 'em ups. It has a great art style and fun story. Unfortunately, the game is plagued by problems and glitches. A demo is available on the official site as is the full retail version for $8.99, a price that seems much too high even if the game was problem-free.
