If you loved Slime Rancher, this is a no-brainer. It’s more of the same, but bigger, better, and more varied. That said, I am interested to see what Monomi Park add in the future to innovate and evolve this franchise even further.

As it is right now, Slime Rancher 2 is a fantastic game that should appeal to both returning fans and those getting into the series for the first time. It features all of the same ranching mechanics we fell in love with, but with some much-needed quality of life improvements. The returning Slimes are still great, and the new additions are also super adorable.

While it’s not perfect and could use a bit of rethinking in some of it’s systems, Slime Rancher 2 is still a fun, low conflict game. I honestly think everyone needs at least one game they can turn on and just relax with and much like the first game, it’s a good option to go with if you’re looking for a fun cozy game. Slime Rancher 2 officially launched its full version (v1.0) on 23 September 2025.
