Rush Rally Origins demands a place in your Switch starting line-up. It’s second only to its Rush Rally counterpart, and is far and away the best racing game to release on the Switch in the last couple of years.

Rush Rally Origins actually stunned me with the overall package. I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy a rally game with a top-down perspective but I was genuinely hooked from the first second I played. With 48 different rally tracks to work through across time trials, competitions and races, it presents the opportunity for several runs to achieve the best scores and times possible. The driving mechanics are absolutely solid and negotiating the track feels just as natural as playing a realistic behind-the-dash rally sim.

With an excellent behind-the-car racer in Rush Rally 3 and now a superb overhead entry, it’s hard to imagine what more this developer can do in the rally racing category, especially at such an incredibly competitive price point. SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 How Buddy’s Parents Met ($3.99) I’m not sure who needs me to give a thumbs up or thumbs down on a jigsaw puzzle game, but here we are.

For those who live and breathe arcade racers, making a perfect run in Rush Rally Origins is an absolute thrill. For those who don’t mind a fair amount of repetition and a steep price tag, this is your next addiction. Brownmonster Limited have set out to make the definitive top down racer with Rush Rally Origins.
