Rocketbirds 2: Evolution picks up right where the cinematic adventure of Hardboiled Chicken left off. Players again will gear up as Hardboiled, the tough-asnails, plucky chicken super-agent and the original "Cock of War." The evil megalomaniacal despot Putzki, who wants nothing more than to bend the world to his wing, is still alive, and his evil plans force Hardboiled to hunt him down and eliminate him once and for all.

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution is just about everything I wanted from a sequel. It improves upon just about everything from the original, the story goes in weirder directions while still retaining its dry humor, the game somehow looks even better than before, and we get a new album from New World Revolution. The long wait was worth it. A copy of this game was provided by the publisher for review purposes.

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution was a fantastic surprise for me. Having never touched the first game (even though I owned it through PS+), I had no idea what to expect. In the end what I got was a mostly solid single player campaign, with a co-op mode that could have me coming back for ages.

Despite some problems with the pacing during the main campaign, Rocketbirds 2: Evolution is, all in all, a wonderful package. Its art style and use of humour is commendable, but most impressive is its solid gameplay.
