Mini Motor Racing X was a pleasant surprise. It took me back to the days of playing Micro Machines on my Mega Drive. Fun, simple arcade gameplay that does the trick for gamers with not a lot of time to spare. Tons of tracks as well as fun extra modes make this a great racing package worth playing alone or with a friend in split screen. I didn’t think I would ever be won over by a racing game again to this degree but here we are. Good job developers!

Mini Motor was released in 2011 on Android, and I remember it well… After purchasing a new phone I was looking for a little racer to download, and I came across Mini Motor which reminded me so much of Micro Machines. Fast forward to the present day; I noticed a few weeks ago that it had appeared on the Nintendo Switch eShop with a new name and fresh coat of paint, so I needed to check it out again! There is quite a lot to do in Mini Motor Racing X so let’s take a brief look at what’s included. Career Mode The career mode sees you choosing one of 22 different vehicles from a police car to school bus, each car having its own statistics (note some cars are locked at the very beginning).

Fans of overheard racing games will find a lot to love about Mini Motor Racing X, especially those with PlayStation VR headsets.Mini Motor Racing X gameplay video → Metaloid: Origin Review Xbox One ★★★☆☆ There have been loads of Mega Man clones over the years and Metaloid: Origin is yet another but is it any good? Last year, I played Metagal which was a solid take on Mega Man and now, the same developers just released Metaloid: Origin.

After sinking several hours, I can say that Mini Motor Racing X is pretty fun. From seemingly small options to many extras, it offers a lot. While I wonder if it’ll prove a memorable racer when compared to many, I suspect it’s a game I’ll keep downloaded to revisit for short spells now and again. Review: Mini Motor Racing X (Nintendo Switch) Good After sinking several hours, I can say that Mini Motor Racing X is pretty fun.

While I wish the extra modes were better and that the levels were more consistent, Mini Motor Racing X has earned an ongoing spot on my Switch. Even its longer levels only take a few minutes, making it an ideal game to jump in and out of for just a few minutes. The core racing feels great, I truly can’t remember the last time I enjoyed an overhead arcade racer so much. There are a lot of good racing games on the Switch, but none of them scratches quite the same itch that this one does. As long as you go into it knowing what to expect, I think you’ll have a great time.

We love a good arcade racing game, and in many ways Mini Motor Racing X delivers thrills in spades; it’s a reasonably fast, responsive experience with loads of vehicles and tracks to try out. Ultimately, though, there’s just nothing here that really stands out; nothing to tear you away from Mario Kart 8 or Rocket League. It’s quite content with being an entertaining alternative, and if you’re happy with that, then you’ll have a good time.
