Five Dates not only portrays dating in a digital world in a succinct and believable manner, but it’s also a title that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the greatest rom-com films of all-time. Five Dates puts you in the shoes of Vinny, a twenty-something Londoner who is exploring the world of online dating during the global lockdown with the help of his best friend and confidant, Callum.

Five Dates on Xbox One is a well-written, funny and endearing FMV game that manages to turn dating into a game without making it crass. Once you get over the awkwardness of choosing options based on what dates want to hear, you’ll be in the thralls of some fantastic actresses with engaging stories to tell. Swipe right on this one. TXH Score 4/5 Pros: - Believable script, delivered by warm and engaging characters - Surprisingly funny.

At no more than 90 minutes long, Five Dates isn’t the deepest love story you’ll ever see, but it has the heart, likeable characters, and great writing that make rom-coms enjoyable. It’ll put a smile on your face, and that’s all you can ask for. Review Block Pros - – Likeable characters - – Great, believable performances across the board - – Your choices are important to the story - – Will leave you with a smile on your face Cons - – Not a particularly deep story, as you’d possibly expect from a rom-com - – Some awkward transitions between scenes and interactions with your ‘wingman’ - – While all potential dates are worth seeing, it’s the first run through that’s the best, and it’ll be less than 90 minutes long.
