Duck Souls ended up being a delightful surprise for me. I was smiling the whole way through the game and was a little sad the game ended so soon. I was even drawn to replay the game on hard mode. Something I rarely do with platformers of this calibre. The balance seemed just right. A fun cheap platformer that is well worth the price of entry. Its a shame its called Duck Souls as I feel this game deserves its own identity rather than using one from a famous franchise.

Duck Souls+ is simply great fun. This game is little more than a character with basic moves and 100 levels in which to use them. But those moves feel so right, and those levels are designed around them so well.

Although nothing revolutionary, Duck Souls+ is a game that successfully manages to create a small and fun puzzle-platforming experience. From the visually appealing retro aesthetic, to the tight controls and focused gameplay, this is a title that is well worth the price of admission, and is a great jumping on point for those who may find the likes of Super Meat Boy and Celeste to be too much of a challenge. While it may not be a standout product in its genre, it's still a fun time to be had, and is a worthy predecessor to its bigger brothers.

Duck Souls+ is an enjoyable game which tests your platforming skills. The difficulty is a bit all over the place – some levels had me stuck for ages, then the next set I breezed through – but I always kept coming back for one more go. Definitely a good choice if you’re a fan of platformers. This game was reviewed based on Xbox One review code, using an Xbox One console.

Duck Souls+ on Xbox One has fun gameplay, brisk as it may be. There are just so many better platformers with original voices that you should play first.
