Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is one of the best watercraft racers out there. It may suffer from some minor problems but the gameplay is so incredibly fun and there are many modes to enjoy it within.

Aqua Moto Racing Utopia is solid. It’s the Wave Racer 64 of 2018. The game is easy for anyone to pick up and play. Even those who aren’t at all interested in racing will find enjoyment in the game. With a variety of different modes across 10 different tracks and the ability of online and split-screen play, the game includes the right amount of content to justify the price. Aqua Moto Racing Utopia scratches that itch I get every couple years to play a wave racing game. It is rough around the edges, and lacks a good collection of unlockables, but the core racing is fun. For those like me that are tired of waiting on Nintendo to resurrect the king, this is a great substitute.

With a decent number of modes and a solid core gameplay system, Aqua Moto Racing Utopia has the opportunity to surprise a lot of people. While it has some rough edges like its trick system not being easy to utilize and some issues at the start of races with overall chaos, I found myself having a lot of fun with the game more often than not and I’ll probably be heading back into the game to continue beating my best times and shaving that last second off wherever I can.
